White House Targets CDC Chief
America continues to descend down a foxhole of confusion as President Trump targets CDC Chief, Dr Fauci. She needs a voice of reason during these turbulent times. Dr. Anthony Fauci is that voice, which is not sitting well with President Donald Trump. Dr. Fauci consistently warned Trump that COVID-19 is a threat to be taken seriously. Trump’s messages regarding the virus have mutated from denial to deflection. The President has now placed responsibility on Americans to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Administration Criticizes Dr. Fauci
Trump and his administration have criticized Dr. Fauci for giving out false information regarding COVID-19. Trump’s critique is the equivalent of his reality-show persona, which highlights sensationalism while omitting key information. Dr. Fauci has given timely updates while maintaining that information could change due to COVID-19 mutation. Many people are facing the fear of the unknown. However, those assertions made the Chief of the CDC the voice of reason.
Trump’s desire for omnipotence has ruined America. Dr. Fauci is a member of the coronavirus taskforce Trump created. Trump should defer to Dr. Fauci, as he is an expert on infectious diseases. Trump’s narcissism will never allow that to happen. He demands to be the smartest in the room. He must be credited for ending the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Fauci is a cog to achieve that end.
Trump Urges Quick Reopen
Trump has urged states to reopen quickly for business to restart the economy. In contrast, Trump targets CDC Chief, Dr. Fauci because he has urged America to take her time in reopening. Over 130,000 Americans have died from COVID-19 as of this writing. As a matter of fact, talk of a second shutdown is imminent as some Americans refuse to take precautions. Strong leadership from POTUS would solve everything. Mandate and enforce mask-wearing ordinances. Prosecute those unwilling to wear masks. Practice social distancing. Trump needs to exert maximum authority to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
That will never happen. Trump’s base operates on freedom and liberty. Implementing Dr. Fauci’s suggestions of patience and practicality counter that strategy. In fact, Polls taken in the spring show Americans trust Dr. Fauci’s assessment of the pandemic. Now it’s time for America to reward their trust with action.
